KS3 Cover Lesson - Ode To Joy
This lesson is a good fit for students with at least a term’s worth of analytical listening experience.
It works as a stand-alone 60 minute cover lesson and can be delivered by a non-specialist.
The cover teacher will need access to a screen and projector, decent speakers to broadcast sound into the room and YouTube.
The resource comprises:
- Instructions for the cover teacher on how to deliver the content
- An outline of the specialist musical language that will be used in the lesson, designed to support both students and the cover teacher
- Embedded video clips with questions and answers
- Additional embedded video clips to support musical understanding
- A recap of the specialist musical language from the start of the lesson - to consolidate new learning
