KS3 Cover lesson - Christmas Special
I’ve made two versions of this cover lesson.
The first is a good fit for well established groups with a decent amount of analytical listening experience. The second is simpler and suitable for year 7 term 1.
Both work as a stand-alone 60 minute cover lesson and can be delivered by a non-specialist.
The cover teacher will need access to a screen and projector, decent speakers to broadcast sound into the room and YouTube.
The resources comprise:
- Instructions for the cover teacher on how to deliver the content
- An outline of the specialist musical language that will be used in the lesson, designed to support both students and the cover teacher
- Embedded video clips with questions and answers
- Additional embedded video clips to support musical understanding
- A recap of the specialist musical language from the start of the lesson - to consolidate new learning
